When it comes to the festive season, there’s nothing better the fresh smell of balsam fir or cinnamon wafting through your home. Here are five DIY ways to fill your home with Christmas aromas.
Homemade potpourri
Replicate the smells of a traditional white Christmas with a festive simmer pot on Christmas day. Simply fill a saucepan with a bit of water, sliced apples, cinnamon sticks, orange slices and a few pine branches from your Christmas tree and leave to simmer on the stove. A the concoction heats through, your home will be filled with spicy festive aromas.

DIY Christmas room spray
Make your own Christmas scented room spray by diluting four drops of pine, two drops of mandarin and one drop of cinnamon essential oils in 1¼ cups of water. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and and spray around your home as desired.
Scented Christmas ornaments
Want to add some scent to your artificial tree or boost the fragrance of your real tree? Create cinnamon-scented Christmas ornaments by gluing four cinnamon sticks together in the shape of a snowflake. Tie some string to one of the sticks and hang on your tree.
Scented pine cones
For a quick and easy way to infuse Christmas aromas into your home, simply spray cinnamon-scented essential oil onto pine cones.
Make your home smell of vanilla
Do you have guests coming over? Make your home smell delicious by putting three tablespoons of vanilla extract into a coffee cup and place in the oven at 150 degrees for an hour. This simple trick will leave your home smelling incredible for the entire evening.
